Student Run Weekly Newscast Caps Off Year
The Pacific Lutheran University student news cast, News@Nine, is ending the year after months of practice and growth, with a brand new episode featuring entirely student content, high definition cameras and an online live stream.
The final episode, to be aired Dec. 9, is a culmination of hefty behind-the-scenes work and a semester’s worth of practice. This episode will feature new HD camera’s repurposed from Olson Auditorium.
“These new cameras have been a game changer for us. Our broadcast has immediately been upgraded and with the addition of an intro and smoother transitions we expect to produce even higher quality shows,” said General Manager Matthew Salzano.
News@Nine is run entirely by students, using only student created content. Tucked away in the corner of the University Center, the news studio houses a volunteer producing team, anchors and videographers.
“We have undergone huge renovations but our volunteer base keeps growing,” said Arts and Culture Producer and Outreach Coordinator Sarah Giomi. “We are so excited about the spring.”
