Be a 6 for PLU Basketball
It is time to make your way to Names Family Court in Olsen Gymnasium to support your friends playing Pacific Lutheran basketball. Cheer on both the men and women as they compete for a top spot in the Northwest Conference.
The men are off to an impressive 6-1 start, and are hungry for more wins. The women have started the season 2-2, and are much improved from last season. The influence of a loud, noisy crowd is heard in Century Link Stadium as the 12’s invigorate the Seattle Seahawks. The five players on the court need your help. PLU basketball needs more 6’s. Both teams feed off of your passion and energy for the success of PLU to help motivate them to bigger and better things.
“We would love to see more students in the stands. A crowd brings energy to the players, loud fans help build confidence for the team after a big play is celebrated. Win or lose – it should be about Lute pride,” Jennifer Childress Women’s Head Coach said.
“Supporting the Black and Gold Lutes is a great way to get involved and enjoy all that there is about college life. Don’t just come for the excitement on the floor, come to enjoy a night with you friends, fellow Lutes and be entertained,” Jessica Roswell Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing/ Promotions and Social Media said.
PLU basketball provides a free source of entertainment to the students of Pacific Lutheran University. Not only are PLU basketball games about the competition, you can see great performances from the cheerleaders, and PLU step crew Lute Nation. Our nation is honored by our national anthem before every game, where you can hear performances by members of HERmonic, PLUtonic and Choir of the West.
The next chance to see the women play is Sunday, Dec. 13 as they take on Evergreen at 2 p.m. To get the full details on their season, check out the Women’s Schedule.
You will not get to see the play at home is Friday, Jan. 15 as they host Lewis & Clark. To get the full details on their season, check out the Men’s Schedule.
If you are unable to see the Lutes in person, watch the Live Stream online.
The Pacific Lutheran University Athletic Department is dedicated to providing a broad-based quality program and experience for men and women who strive to achieve academic and athletic excellence within the Northwest Conference as well as regional and national levels.
