The time of year for high school students to visit the colleges around the country has begun. At Pacific Lutheran University, the festivities are in full swing.

Current PLU students volunteered in advance of the arrival of the high school students. Members of the PLU community were trained to host prospective students in their own dorm rooms on campus March 12 and 13.

The activities that the prospective students and their hosts could engage in included: a scavenger hunt, a Residence Hall Expo that gave students the opportunity to view rooms in each hall, and a performance by PLU’s improvisation group, the Clay Crows.

Sydney Davies, a first-year and OverKnight Host, said that she took part because she wanted to give back to the community and inspire high school students to choose PLU.

“I was hoping that I could give back the same thing that she gave me,” Davies said.

The next Lute OverKnight Weekend is April 12 and 13.
