Group of PLU professors speak at the fourth annual TEDx Talk in Tacoma Saturday.

Associate Professor of Communications Amy Young, Associate Professor of Political Science Maria Chavez, and School of Business faculty member Bradd Busick will be presenting new ideas and topics to the Tacoma public. These ideas vary from books that they’ve written, experiences they’ve had, and much more.

“I’m kind of excited about it,” Professor Young said. She was surprised that she was even asked to present at the event. “I have a decent enough ego, but I wasn’t sure that I was quite a big enough fish for the TED pond.” Professor Chavez agreed that it was definitely an access opportunity in terms of landing this talk.

Professor Chavez is more excited about getting her message across, whereas Professor Young is excited to hear her colleagues speak along with other speakers. Pacific Lutheran will be cheering them on on the road to TEDx.
