This year’s Can You Bring It? food drive was a success as Pacific Lutheran University students were able to donate 690 pounds of food from Oct. 1 to 18.

To encourage more donations, Residence Hall Association and the Center for Community Engagement and Service hosted a friendly competition between the residence halls to see which hall could donate the most food.

Residence halls implemented many strategies such as having resident assistants bring their wings to Old Main Market to purchase canned goods for the food drive and asking residents to donate at least two items.

Out of the nine halls online for the year, Tingelstad Hall won the competition. The Tingelstad Residence Hall Council took out the trash for every resident in exchange for donating food or money to the food drive.

Tingelstad Hall won an ice cream social hosted by Residence Hall Association and the Center for Community Engagement and Service for their efforts.
