A new art display appeared Oct. 16 in the University Gallery. The paintings focus on alternative representations of known people and aspects of the world.
David Roholt, a local artist and professor at Pierce College is the featured artist. His paintings focus on the abstract world and portray the state of humanity. One set of paintings focused on poetry written by his colleague, Michael Darcher, a professor at Pierce College. Roholt’s paintings offer a visual perspective of humanity.
Roholt aims to change the way we view the world. “My goal is not to mimic and copy the obvious, but rather to produce work that departs from the familiar,” Roholt said.
The collection of paintings are for sale around $500 each.
