Debaters prepare to take down competition

By Kellie Blauvelt ‘15

Pacific Lutheran University debaters are preparing for tough competition.

Eighteen students from PLU gathered last Tuesday to train for their upcoming competition at Lower Columbia Community College.

The PLU Forensics team sent one team into quarterfinals at their last competition, but they aren’t settling. First-year debater Felicia Jarvis said, “We want to win, all of us. It sucks to not make it to out rounds. We are all working really hard so we can destroy LCC.”

The debaters will compete in both British Parliamentary style debate and individual events Nov. 1 and 2 at LCC in Longview, Wash.
